I disagree with it, especially with the Knocked Up example--I think Ben and his friends did discuss abortion and decided it was up to Alison, who decided she wanted to keep the baby. I don't think the issue was brushed under the rug. I do think abortion was more candidly discussed in earlier movies, including Topsy Turvy, which is about Gilbert and Sullivan and set in Victorian England. Apparent Sullivan was quite the lady's man.
