Hello,

[EMAIL PROTECTED] a écrit :

I suggest we use this stuff: http://datafloater.de/unicap/
for video capture on Linux

I'm not qualified enough to debate on the technical aspect, but there are a few things that i'd like to point out.

First, the last entry in the ChangeLog available here : http://datafloater.de/unicap/ChangeLog is a bit old.
Then, on the download page, we can read :

"*Note:* The CVS repository is currently screwed, the code there is outdated and will not compile. The repository will not be updated until I find a way to make use of it even if I am not connected to the net most of the time."

which can be a bot annoying. Maybe we could suggest him to use a decentralized SCM system, like darcs or Mercurial, even if i think the author is well aware of the existence of such tools.

The News section has not been updated for a long time too. However, the "Activity percentile" for last week on SourceForge is very good : 99% (see here *http://sourceforge.net/projects/unicap), which means that there is some significant work done on a regular basis.*

The documentation section is a bit incomplete (but maybe the API is simple enough to be usable without any documentation) and the roadmap stops on September 2005.

Vadim, do you know if the project is still alive ?

All the best,
