what do you think about Vadim's idea "Free to call, using Free software"? sounds great don't you think?
about the "open source/free software", now that even microsoft and other big (think evil :) companies are claiming to do opensource software, I think it lost a bit of its magic (this is why KDE describes itself as Free Software now on its frontpage though it used to called itself open source before). Also in these days of sony rootkit and eucd/dmca stuff, it's a good thing to value freedom in the cyberworld :)

It is very good news. IMHO, it would have been better to discuss this on
the devel mailing list before, so that we could have resolved the issues
you raise below before talking to RMS, but it's very nice from you
anyway ;-).

I agree. The use of the term, "GNU GPL license" is more apropriate.
However, there are some other reasons why looking more "Open Source"
than "Free Software" might help the project.

I agree too.

It makes sense, but it may be a lot more difficult to find a short
sentence that conveys both the idea of gratis (which is a major
caracteristic of WengoPhone) and free (as in speech) software. Any idea
is welcome !

I don't know if we will have a FSF-like or OpenSource-like attitude in
the future (i don't think about software licenses here, GPL is just fine
for us). Truth is that OpenSource is a nice way to present Free Software
ideas. It has a pragmatic way of presenting software projects that we
like. However, we repect and believe in free (as in speech) software, so
i think that these changes will be easily accepted by the OpenWengo
community. It might just take some time to be integrated (modifying
images and HTML code during christmas holidays is much more difficult
than usual).

I think that it's great, but IMHO, we should talk about such ideas on
the list next time so that our initiative is better understood by the
people we talk to (RMS in this case).
Thank you very much for this effort and your enthusiasm, it is very much
apreciated !
All the best,
