Just an idea: if you really want to promote NG instead of Classic, you could
start building alpha releases that people could download and install without the
need to have the rather extensive build system of their own. It could be
available somewhere on the dev site, apart from the openwengo.com downloads.
This just because for most people this is the logical way to start, try out what
is available. Some will never build anything themselves, but could still be
useful in reporting bugs or such. If only Classic binaries are available, that's
were most people will end up and then it will take time to find their way into NG.
I also think that on Windows there is great demand for a good open source
provider independent softphone and a build even of alpha quality would likely
receive quite a lot of attention.
