I'll try to decompose this discussion a little

Don't embed:
If we think about WengoPhone as a general purpose and operator independent SIP client, then embedding a web browser is actually a problem. People who just want to use it with their own Asterisk or OpenSER will actually wonder what the big empty space in the middle is for!

Do embed:
On the other hand, I fully understand why it's useful from an operator perspective. In fact, I'd personally be against removing it, but that's just because I'm not one of the people in the above group. In time however, that group may be a majority and it would be worthwile to address this in WengoPhoneNG.

Mozilla and XUL:
As some already said, embedding one widget library into another is kind of
silly.

If I've understood the Mozilla platform and particularly XUL correctly (ind this is and if, I've just read stuff about it) you might not want to *embed* gecko as a browser, you could instead do the whole user interface with XUL (compare to Thunderbird, Sunbird etc...) and the "embedded browser" would just be a bonus. Since NG is GUI independent, why don't the people who are interested in XUL just go ahead and implement a complete XUL interface. Who knows, it may turn out to be everyones favorite option and you'll all be world famous!

So, in deciding how and what browser to embed, I think it is worth to separate these different needs and solutions. What the actual solutions are, I wouldn't know :-)
