We could.

Imagine the wengophone loads a fresh XUL script upon loading, and just renders that instead of HTML for the "welcome" tab. We could then really deliver updated features between releases... Actually we would be blurring the sheer notion of a "release"...

It makes a lot of sense to me. Actually, I think WengoPhone could (i mean *could*) be a fully XUL app that would be loaded inside a XUL capable application (e.g Firefox) from any URI. Updates would be, as you say above, more transparent then.
