Hello lorenzo,

Cool! So the driver seems ok if the loopback works on ekiga.

It most probably (I hope) is a problem of palette (fourcc) in wengophone.

For this, the only process I have to give you is the following :

Under windows, download vidcap32 on http://www.trix.com/buz/vidcap32.exe

Connect your webcam with your driver installed and then launch vidcap32.exe

Go to "Options" => "Video Format"

There you have several choices :
For resolution, choose "320 x 240".

Then in the middle selector, you will get what is called "fourcc" codes (cf
http://www.fourcc.org/ for more explanations).

I need you to try all of the fourcc codes that are in the list and verify
that the image is OK.

Could you then send the report of this test ?

As an example, with my webcam (a labtec webcam) I have :

320x240 , I420 => OK
320x240 , RGB24 => OK

Thank you
Jérôme

openwengo

Hello Jerome,

   I've tried Ekiga (www.ekiga.org) and I was able to have the webcam work
   correctly "on the loopback", that is, locally. Even if the device driver
is
   experimental, I don't think it causes this issue (I also spoke with the
   developer).

   Fortunately enough, I do have a Windows system right now to test the
   webcam, if I need to do so.

Thanks,
Lorenzo
