I agree they have different goals, but I don't think they are both
needed, since once you select log off, the only thing you can do is to
log back. That's why I think it would be simpler to just make log off
show the login dialog, and remove the "Switch Profile" action.
In case you missed it, I read your usability report and created tickets
for most entries. Have a look at the tickets for the 2.1 milestone, in
the "gui" component.

I agree that that the "Open chat window" shouldn't be removed but I
think that it should also enable to launch an IM connection : this
button can seem totally useless for users and let them think that there
is a bug with this button that doesn't perform any action. Personnally I
didn't noticed that the button was greyed because it is ok for a balloon
to be black and white ! Anyway I think that it shouldn't be inactive to
be consistent with the other buttons : if I can send a SMS directly
from the toolbar why couldn't I start an IM session ?
Totally agree. And in fact I didn't even noticed it was greyed until you
mentioned it :-)
