It was done for helping developing under Windows (and MacOSX in some way).
checkout svn, install Visual, boost, Qt and voila -> everything was
compiling without other steps.

A http server (or maybe better, another hg repo) can be used to store
already compiled binaries of external libraries.

wifo still contains forked libraries (osip, exosip, ortp...) I think
this is the most urgent thing to do about libraries.
