Follow-up Comment #2, bug #9440 (project wesnoth):
The problem I described also is in 1.3.7.
I there remarked an additional problem with my workaround:
When in replay mode, after pressing two times Ctrl-F the replay-control-bar
is missing. So you can't continue the replay, when it for some cause stops.
Very annoying, if you are reporting replay-related bugs in your browser.
