Follow-up Comment #4:
Original submitter was reporting a corrupted save from EI at level Easy.
Because replies reported similar problems in tSG and HttT I've changed the
bug title and am consolidating similar reports here (notably bug #10119; I've
attached shiver's save from Northern Winter).
