Follow-up Comment #5, bug #10419 (project wesnoth):
Okay, to add some comment if this is working or not:
I did try this configure patch and m4 script on my mac (with osx 10.4)where
compiling/linking was not working before. It did throw correct errors when
either the header files or the libs were missing and using --with-boost=DIR I
was able to specify the correct folder so that it did work. One little side
note though:
To have this script consistent regarding the naming scheme for the configure
params I would recommend to rename --with-boost= to --with-boost-prefix since
that is what we currently do use for the other params that do set a prefix
(like gettext).
But so far: The script is working nicely, thanks Jens for looking into this.
Regarding the license (and potential problems): Personally I think it would
probably best if we did ask the author if using his script in our GPLv2+
project would be okay for him. Then we are definatly on the save side. I am
rather confident that it will be okay for him, so we just need someone to
write a mail and that's it.
