Details:

Currently I have 3 versions of BfW installed. All of them (stable-release,
dev-release and trunk) get updated from time to time.

What I usually do is to switch/update my svn repos and recompile the new
stuff.

Unfortunately that requires me to remember a few parameters so that the
version don't interfere with eachother.

I've figured out how to do it, with some help, but it would be nice to allow
for all the things that need special attention to be set in on go.

Instead of:
prefsdir = '.wesnoth_trunk'
program_suffix = '_trunk'

(And I think something with the server needs to be taken care of too, but
since I don't run the server I didn't dig into it)

separate_version = 'trunk'

ok, now it doesn't seem like it adds much value, but I know that for me it
would help a lot (maybe mostly by knowing that I don't have to dig into the
information more, after reading about that option I could have just used it
and be fine).

I imagine that there are quite a few persons that are not really developers
but still want to compile their own stuff and also uses at least 2 version.

Maybe a small benefit, but hopefully not a lot of work either.

Hopefully this option would be one of the first so that it shows in the
beginning of the "scons --help"-output.

AFAIK there is work on a cmake building process too, that process is ofc
welcome to incorporate this FR too.

/tsr
