Follow-up Comment #1, bug #11691 (project wesnoth):
I've added version_suffix option that causes a suffix to be added to default
values of prefsdir, program_suffix and datadirname:
scons version_suffix=-trunk
You can also make it use version that is read from config.h.dummy:
scons version_suffix='-$version'
