Follow-up Comment #6:
Changing the order in which the pool manager cleans up its mutexes vs
condition variables seems to have fixed the crashes. Since cond(mutex), conds
rely on mutex. If the mutex silently goes away, the condition is left with a
non-viable resource to access.
