As far as I can tell, it is not possible to fix this issue in a simple way
for 1.6. Indeed, the AI is not designed to cope with real-time modifications
to the environment. More precisely, the unit has no movement left (it has
captured a village) and it was not ambushed (it reached its destination), so
the game has no reason to consider something can happen to it.
The code already contains a hack for ambush (an ambushed unit systematically
attacks its ambusher, even if it's a suicide or if it could get help from
other units). I don't feel like adding yet another one. Please reopen if you
feel like fixing it.
