Per a conversation on IRC, the problem with my code is that the enemy unit is
standing on an impassable terrain tile; when it dies, a WML event replaces
that tile with a flat terrain. Shroud isn't being updated because the event
uses
++
[redraw]
[/redraw]
--
instead of:
++
[redraw]
side=1
[/redraw]
--
Apparently [redraw] doesn't update any side's shroud maps unless the side
number is explicitly specified. This was not the behavior of this procedure
in the past, but it seems to have never been an intended effect, and that
confused me.
