Details:
PROBLEM:
People join your game and don't have the era or have an outdated version of
the era. You start and either they auto-quit or you get OOS errors. This is
really annoying.
1.6 SOLUTION:
Grey the title of the game and make it so you can't join.
WHY THE 1.6 SOLUTION SUCKS:
There are many eras that use only default units and it is not necessary to
have the era. Making it so people must log out, get the addon (that they
don't really need), log back in, then rejoin the game is a *poor* idea.
BETTER SOLUTION A:
Keep the 1.6 solution but add a dialogue that appears when you try to join or
when you right click on the game that gives you the option of downloading the
addon.
BETTER SOLUTION B:
Make some sort of switch within an era file that let's wesnoth know that
downloading the era is not necessary for the game. Then, have these games not
have grey titles. (this is the easiest solution.)
BETTER SOLUTION C:
Make a check box for the host of the game that allows people in who do not
have the era.
