Follow-up Comment #5, bug #13256 (project wesnoth):
according to zookeeper, correct behavior should be:
"killing a unit should unvalidate all undo moves, including those
which are not related to this unit"
so, BEFORE 'units->erase(un);', shroud changes are to be applied, and undo
moves are to be invalidated.
I will try to make up a patch to do that.
