Details:

I made several test between 1.6a and 1.4.7 using command:
time ./wesnoth --nogui  --multiplayer
--scenario=multiplayer_Cynsaun_Battlefield --controller2=ai --controller1=ai

Despite that every game is different, measuring whole game time and dividing
it by number of turns played we can measure time taken to make one turn.
Cynsaun Battlefield is the biggest 2p map and one game ended with draw after
50 turns.

BfW 1.4:
1m14.514s, 50 turns: 0.7s per AI turn
1m7.116s, 37 turns: 0.9s per AI turn
0m44.457s, 32 turns: 0.68s per AI trun
0m59.106s, 34 turns: 0.88s per AI turn

BfW 1.6:
14m51.943s, 45 turns: 9.9s per AI turn
8m8.512s, 31 turns: 7.9s per AI turn

The difference between mean time of move is clear, no t-test is needed.
