building from scratch is fun :-)
only the maintenance is huge...
Wesnoth 1.6.5 will be the last 1.6.x release. Realistically I don't expect
any of the developers willing to put effort in supporting gcc-3.3. So if you
want to submit patches to get Wesnoth trunk to work with gcc-3.3 I'd be happy
to apply them.
I tested with gcc 4.1-4.4 as shipped in Debian stable/testing and all work
although an older 4.4 version had a bug that didn't compile with -Werror
enabled (our default setting).
