Follow-up Comment #3, bug #14969 (project wesnoth):
Even though the "+" symbols have been removed, they are still valid formulas,
so the "$", "(", ")" symbols will be removed during their evaluation. That's
why they won't show up (unless you display the literal values of the fields).
For instance, "$(1530)" is a formula that always evaluates to 1530.
