Error message points to src/sdl_utils.cpp, line 1534.
With a smaller scale parameter it shows fine.
This may also depend on OS (and display settings, resolution etc ?). (another
image worked on MAC but not on win) In any case it seems that the image to be
schown should be so large that it exceeds the top of the shown map part.
