Follow-up Comment #3, bug #18522 (project wesnoth):
I have no objection to the new behaviour (though the reverting to context
appears to still be present if the filter doesn't match anything, which is
odd).
I also checked the campaigns and it appears that HttT, TRoW, and DW use it
with no arguments, so it isn't every core campaign that is affected. For HttT,
it no doubt predates the wiki.
I mentioned it to zookeeper yesterday, sorry for not posting the discussion.
20110818 14:55:19< Alarantalara> I just noticed that the change to add SLF
support to [event][remove_item] changes its behaviour enough that virtually
every campaign is broken as an empty tag now matches the entire map instead of
nothing
20110818 14:55:37< Alarantalara> which means that local context no longer
exists
20110818 15:00:25< zookeeper> i'd be willing to drop the old default (that no
x,y means x,y=$x1,$y1), but of course existing content needs conversion and
wmllint can't know if no x,y is supposed to mean $x1,$y1 or entire map.
20110818 15:01:52< Alarantalara> Should the old default also stay? Right now,
you can approximate the old default with [not][/not]
20110818 15:14:51< zookeeper> Alarantalara, if we can treat an empty SLF in a
special way there so that the old default stays, then that's fine by me too.
