Details:

I was trying to use a select event for implementing dialogues in my campaign,
but had to discover that this type of event only works for units of the
current player's side.
Anonymissimus found out that this is explicitly limited to the player's side
in line 667 in mouse_events.cpp (rev. 50894): "u->side() ==
gui().viewing_side()"

If there isn't an important reason for it, I would really like to have the
select event also trigger on units you don't control.
