OK, that's a strange usecase, but at least it has a use. Maybe that's why the
documentation does not mention the zero-hitpoint case. (Although maybe it
should, for completeness if nothing else.) The negative hit points still look
odd when healing (after healing, the minimum hit points is 1, so a unit with
-9 hit points would rest-heal for 10 hit points), but my main concern was the
discrepancy with the documentation.

So where? Over at http://wiki.wesnoth.org/DirectActionsWML#.5Bunstore_unit.5D
is the note "units with a negative amount of hitpoints will be unstored with 1
hitpoint."
