In the wiki is now this
(Version 1.11 and later only) "ai_special" removed, use [status] guardian
instead.
which we (zookeeper, me and other people) don't like. [unit]ai_special still
works without a deprecation warning so it shouldn't be marked as such. And
since it's used *a lot* in existing wml and the alternative adds an additional
child tag so it shouldn't be I think. (Independently from what Crab said to
you. :) )
