Follow-up Comment #2, bug #19855 (project wesnoth):

This must be a change from the 1.9.x behavior.  I do understand your point
about displaying the message during a replay, as seeing an enemy unit may have
impacted a player's moves.

However, this still leaves the issue of multiple messages being displayed atop
each other when "skip AI moves" is enabled.  This, at least, must be fixed, if
replays should still display "enemy unit sighted" messages.
