Details:
I think that it might be a good idea to make it possible to assign hotkeys
(user defined, identified only as hotkey 1-7 in WML) to right-click menu items
([set_menu_item], because 7 is maximum, 7 hotkeys would fit it). The
[set_menu_item] tag would get a new possible property, hotkey_assigned or
something.
It would be very useful for add-ons with a more hacked gameplay, including RPG
campaigns (inventory, usage of active skills), campaigns with construction
(building selection) or real ranged era (or how was it called, it was about
firing missiles at distance really), generally for add-ons whose gamplay
requires tons of right-clicking. Instead of right-clicking somewhere and
selecting the item to get into an add-on specific menu, the player would just
hit a keyboard button and get into that menu.
