Details:

Whenever logging into Battle for Wesnoth on my macbook, the cursor lags behind
the actual movement of the mouse considerably (same effect with touchpad and
other mice). Moving the mouse in any direction will cause at least a 3-4
second delay in mouse movement, and rather than tracking the movement, the
cursor simply reappears at the place where the mouse stopped moving.
Sometimes the lag is not problematic, and very reduced compared to usual.
When it is severe, however, I am unable to click menu options.
If the lag is reduced, and I enter a new menu, the lag becomes severe again.
The cursor lag only affects the following menu screens:
- main menu add-ons sub menu (before entering server)
- main menu
- main menu multiplayer sub-menu (before selecting option)
- add-on's download progress sub-menu

The editor, actual multiplayer menu, the add-ons server list, the preferences
menu and the "load game" sub-menu all remain largely unaffected by this, but
the lag is still enough to be noticed.

The main issue is that it makes it impossible to track the movement of the
cursor effectively, and that even with careful, slow movements, buttons cannot
be clicked anyway.

This often forces me to resort to forcing shut down (when application is
flagged as not responding).
When the application is flagged as responding, selecting a non-forced shut
down either relieves some of the lag briefly - enough time to select a menu
option - or worsens it and causes the application to freeze.
