Follow-up Comment #1, bug #22336 (project wesnoth):
It's a bit unfortunate, I think part of the reason the change got committed
was to solve this bug: https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?21971. My memory is that
when this change was made, we hadn't totally sorted out what we wanted to do
and we asked one of the mp devs to take a look at it to evaluate balance
impacts. I'm not sure if that ever happened though :/
I think what I had expected was that on maps like hornshark with "fake" mixed
terrains, we would just change those tiles to flat + mushroom, or at least do
this in addition to the changes to the properties of mushroom groves.
I think we'll likely end up doing this in mp maps / some of the campaigns with
cave scenarios that could be affected, but I'm not responsible for any of
these things so it's hard to say how it will be resolved.
