Follow-up Comment #1, bug #23321 (project wesnoth):

I noticed some weird behavior like this when I had to fix this bug:

But that bug was only on master and did not affect 1.12.

I ended up rewriting some parts of the code that drive that dialog, it was
making copies of units unnecessarily and that was pretty much the cause of the
segfaults iirc.

I don't remember noticing that there was a major logic error though... its
hard to remember.

Can you reproduce this issue on Heir to the Throne similarly to how I did for
23076? If so I will definitely take a look at this.
