Follow-up Comment #2:
You are copying a 10x10 image onto another 10x10 image's quarter area, that
is, an area that's only 5x5 in size. By design, BLIT changes neither the
source's dimensions nor the destination's. You might want to look into using
CROP and SCALE instead.
