Follow-up Comment #5, bug #23625 (project wesnoth):
Could you test with my campaign (Shadows of Deception for anyone who is
unaware) using its current master? Go into scenario 1. Mousing over Niroyone
and pressing "I" should bring up her inventory. Then test if it works with
back to turn 1, and do the same thing after :n. If it works then the bug got
fixed somehow.
