At the moment there is no way to do so. It looks like the game is first searching in the main units/ folder since it was initialised first. This resulted into lots of problems after the switch from 1.1 to 1.1.1. Several users did just install 1.1.1 over the old installation and lots of units were not found and problems like this. It would be good if the units inside the campaign dir had a higher priority. This would result into having the option to redefine mainline units without having to define completely new units. Would this be possible to code without too many problems? I think it would be a really nice thing.
