I think it would be useful for those who have completed the long mainline campaigns on medium or hard to report how many AMLAs their early units recieved. I thought D.Fool's theme displayed that, but it doesn't. Is there another way to get that info?

I don't like the idea of "Uber-units" either, but the question must be asked, "what exactly is an uber-unit?" I'd define it as a unit so powerful that can solve (or at least survive) most tactical situations. It can fill most of the roles than are normally distrubuted among all the units of a faction.

Wesnoth already has playable L4 units. It would take roughly 3-6 AMLAs of the kind proposed to make an L3 equivalent to an L4. And even the L4 mage will die quickly enough if you use it stupidly. Items equivalent to one or more AMLAs are available in a limited number in campaigns such as RotL, UtBS, & HttT. I don't think the consensus is that these items overpower the units and spoil the game.

If units gain AMLAs too quickly the XP increase could be changed from 25% to 50%. Obviously AMLAs could be made that are too powerful, but i don't think AMLAs will *neccesarily* be overpowering.

Wesnoth is not about uber-units, and managing your high level units to
help lower level units progress is part of the game.

Yes, xp sent on max level units will be wasted, that the point. max
level units shouldn't progress more, other units should level
instead...

the idea of giving units the traits they didn't get, but increasing
mvt or giving teleport is changing the unit concept.

I guess this would be useful to most units which have 5 MP. Unless they're quick they're seriously worse on such terrain. If you brought your unit up to AMLA it's only fair to give it the mvt it could have had from start with
quick.

Yes, I think increase of resistance / decrease of weakness (Grand Knight
against pierce for example) could be very usefull as well.
