This can also help if people with other build environments commit code. The main reason to add it is to be able to disable it for testing, I still like to test for unused variables every now and then and do some cleanups. Maybe we should add to the coding style that this flag needs to be enabled when committing. Personally I think we have developers who know what they're doing so I don't expect much problems with it. I'd like to see how it goes and if it doesn't work discuss what we can do to fix it.
