Hi folks, I sent an email to a separate thread about the status of ANA
so we don't disrupt this one.

About participating in GSoC I still think it's a great idea.

I think the important part is trying to estimate mentor availability
beforehand and selecting well bounded projects that are feasible to
implement and test thoroughly in the given timeline.

I also think selected projects should have a tendency to be on the
frontend side instead of the backend.

The features that fit this description usually fall into the category
of "nice to have" features.

The logic behind this reasoning is as follows, working on less
critical stuff will be less disruptive to the dev community and the
game itself.

Just my two cents, I loved working on the ANA implementation and still
want to see it through and fully functional in the game. I have a long
term compromise to this, but I can't do much about it in the short
term.

Looking back I think my biggest problem was not being able to test and
debug in real world scenarios.

Cheers, Billy
