Hey everybody,

ANA is a network module for Wesnoth developed under GSoC 2010.

I haven't continued developing in the Wesnoth code base for several reasons
that escape the purpose of the email (don't own a personal computer anymore
and my employer forbids me to work on this using their computer.)

Although I realize some bugs were left unsolved at the time of GSoC 2010
deadline, I ported the library project to google code and work continued
there under my supervision here: http://code.google.com/p/ana-net

There were a few key changes to the code that did fix a few important
issues, you can see those here: http://code.google.com/p/ana-net/source/list

I would say the most important was this:
http://code.google.com/p/ana-net/source/detail?r=8 (which would probably
cause a stressed server to fail when many send operations are run together.)

The code at Wesnoth for this is
http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/wesnoth/trunk/src/ana/ .

Now, even though I could probably borrow a computer and push those changes,
testing it will be a different thing and I honestly can't find the time to
continue working on this. I also realize this should have been brought up
sooner.

If anybody out here thinks that Wesnoth can truly benefit from a polished
implementation of the network module and would like to give ANA another try,
I would be more than happy to walk that person through the library
implementation and how it the network API (network.hpp if I recall
correctly) was ported to ANA. Also, I could work with someone about those
bugs that recently closed and were assigned to me: bug #16551 and bug
#16553.

I'm truly sorry for not seeing this through beyond the scope of GSoC,

Billy
