Hello,

Being a Marketing & ICT practitioner and with your concerns noted, I
would like to say that in my opinion announcements of activities in the
region specific to certain causes (more over developmental) should be
okay - Ombaci OB & West Nile night being an example.

Social discourse has been one of the breeding grounds for great business
ideas!

I however agree with you that discussions of issues and matters of a
specific interest other than that of West Nile Net should not be
encouraged on this forum, especially when they do not relate to the
intentions of this forum. I do believe there was an announcement from
the Ombaci team which was good and a bit of discussion which we may want
to caution that should be handled in a specific forum.

Otherwise I do not think that people should get emotional and leave
because of such minor diversions from the issues of this forum.

I moderate some very large mailing lists where once in a while the list
is flooded with adds and people have to be cautioned, sometimes hackers
take advantage and post any thing.

I also hope that this does not become a topic of discussion.

Regards

Richard
