Hello Ejiku and Dear friends!

I thank you all for your discussions.

In order for us to avoid this kind of divisive approach of creating ethnically
inclined Districts,We need a republican Federation which will enhance the
understanding of civic responsibilities, engagement and participation of
citizens in order to nurture a common identity by which our ethnic, cultural
and
traditional diversities translates into stepping stones for a more effective
political, economic and social synergy.

The problem we have is that we think Federo is a Buganda agenda. The truth is
that Uganda is faced with a glaring political breakdown due to increased
militarization of public order management, crippling civil - state relationship
hence increasing fragility of the state of The Rule of Law, Killing the spirit
of accountability and transparency in public resource management . We also see
continued political irresponsiveness and reactionary approach which fuel
disunity. This shows that the choice of political system and approach for this
country is a wrong one. Unitary governments were only relevant during the
colonial and early post colonial era where there was a common enemy. But over
47
years after the independence we are still struggling to unite the country
against which enemy? We should be at a point of realizing how frustrating one
party dream of a unitary government is and how it is often hijacked by ethnic
oligarchy, elite hegemony and Militant instincts respectively.

My point is that the regions of this country should be given the opportunity
to
manage their affairs and the central Government through the parliament
regulates
the Economy, Public Order and other public goods. That is why I strongly think
if
West Nile region and other regions in this country got republican federal
status
we could manage our affairs better and uniquely contribute a strong union. I am
aware that there is the political quagmire of indecision on resolving the
Buganda aspirations for a constitutional monarchy and feudal land ownership
wrapped in their demand for federo. Dealing with these kind of sentiments
would
create a great opportunity for national stability and union which would pave
way
for regional integration and federation.
Thank you

Kind Regards
Moses

Gilbert,

Well put.

Baganda want to remain together and they agitate for federo. Is it this net we
agitate for as our only uniting factor. Fellows wake up and smell the coffee.
