Thanks for the nice additions,

I will document them and yes we can have a big vision and start building at
it slowly taking what we can handle at a time, for now I will share the idea
with some professionals from the region so as to come up with a model that
works.

I can see from your ideas that you are keen so I will add you to the list of
vigilantes

Regards

Richard

Great brilliant idea for cultural identity symbol. Involving a larger
community participation is good. I am sure we have graphic artists whose
talent we can draw on.

A long the lines, we could think about Miss West Nile nomination or
competition. The winner could be given some modest scholarship. Also we
could think about organizing/promoting West Nile Music Festival or Music
Carnival, giving opportunity to celebrate the talents of emerging
musicians.

These are some wild ideas that I think would bring large crowds in the towns
that would be useful for the business community.
Down the road we could ask some of our men/women in business to contribute
some small donations for promoting/advertising their businesses/products in
these events.

Thanks Caleb and team for this great idea. I think we should get their
photos as well since we don't know some of them by names.

Dear all,

Greetings, I am venturing into a subject that has been debated off this
forum in several community gatherings including Ombaci OB's, Chuma social
place and Nalya cafe among others. Many have shared opinions and ideas on
the dress, symbol and other memorabilia for the West Nile Community, other
have advised consultations with elders in the region given that it is quite
diverse in tribe, culture and beliefs.

I have however been encouraged to present it here for discussion, so
basically the idea is to come up with a contemporary traditional/symbolic
dress for the community, this may be worn during functions, annual events
etc... The attire may also come with the "Ndere " for Lugbara, the Alur
could use an item favoured too, likewise with Madi, Kakwa, Aringa but making
sure they look like a variation of the same.

If this idea is favoured, I can ask Ms. Santa Anzo to come up with
suggestions and they will be posted here and the theme that receives the
biggest vote will be selected. From this initial stage we can continue to
grow the unity by coming up with in future a west nile cultural day that
will be hosted on rotational basis around the west nile region...

Just ideas for the forum...

Regards

Richard

Dear all
For some reason my ISP has been blocking mail to yahoo.
I reported this
then diverted WestNileNet mail to be delivered vi another Service Provider's
server.
The UTL server had been blacklisted so the yahoo mail again bounced

Then our mail-server seeing excessive bounced mail from yahoo accounts then
blocked all yahoo accounts

I have unblocked them and mail for WestNileNet is now going out via a third
Service Provider which seems to working well.

Please let me know if you have a yahoo account and not getting the mails you
expect.

To see what messages you have missed please look at the archive here
