Dear All, I salute you fellow west Nilers upon the relentless efforts you are making towards equitable, fair and possibly sustainable development of west Nile regardless of the political regime in the country at large and the region in particular. Members it is at this period of the almanac of government with particular reference to elections that we can salvage some hope for west Nile.
I remember how Makerere Arua Students Union (MASU) in the late nineties though a small community used to determine the Guild President of the University through strategic alliances with the greater north and the eastern region; of course the central region and the west would always be at logger heads. This kind of alliance enabled them (MASU) to negotiate for lucrative ministerial positions, which at the time would be the ultimate objective (comrade Ejiku Robert and others can testify). Relating the above to our situation of the day, the past few days have seen members generate some useful information, which if consolidated into a dossier of the Forum can help us to push the development question of west Nile into the political agenda of the country and who so ever perceives the West Nile Forum as a strategic ally in furthering their objectives. I thought at the end of the day, we would not only earn back consolation positions of Minister of State⦠or whatever has been the case in the recent past, BUT attract real tangible investments which can kick start the socio-economic development of west Nile region. I congratulate you all for the enormous work so far done and trust that we are not about to cease fire until the dreams of the generation are realized. Long live west Nile Forum!! Once again I thank you. * * *Matua Odravu * On Sat, Oct 16, 2010 at 8:59 AM, alaka caleb <[email protected]> wrote: > Vasco, you need not apologize, you have just said the truth.
