Thanks Christine, Happy New Year to you all. Such events of killings of citizens at the pretext of enforcing security on a lake where the supposed to be criminals are defenceless can not be considered enforcing the law. Did these people have guns and they were shooting at the police and the police were returning shooting at them in defence? If these people had broken the law the police had a right to arrest them and charge them in court, but not shoot at them and end their lives. The police in enforcing the law have no right to take citizens lives. I wonder if this is the new government policy, especially at this election time to intimidate citizens. We people of West Nile really need to wake up and realize that we are being abused wherever we are be it in our own homes or away from home. Why is that we let people insult us at home and away from home. Has this government the interest of the people of West Nile or our lives are considered useless. We need to stand up as a group and make our voices be heard on such killings. Just a few days ago one of our brothers was almost killed around Bugolobi and where is the security the government is providing to protect its citizens, if the law enforcement police can now kill at will without any remorse. What has happened to the police who have killed these people? Has anything been done to them at all? Have they been arrested and brought to law. I hope some of our lawyers on this Forum will take up and follow up this issue. This is some of the only ways WNF can help the citizens of West Nile because it falls under some of the objectives of the organization. May their lives rest in Eternal peace, and may those still in critical condition get a quick recovery.
