James Acidri has lost his identity to identity thieves.James Acidri's security may have been compromised by phising-a technique identity thieves employ to steal from the unsuspecting.To hack simply means breaking into computers or computer networks by compromising the security environment of a computer system through covert or non-convert techniques and may include employing programming skills to break into a computer system's security fence. Phising is mainly promoted through the proliferation of attractive mail like you fill in a form before you can access say $1,000,000 jackpot that you have "won" .These forms may ask you to fill your e-mail id and password ! The word hacked is sometimes mixed up with phising by people as if they mean the same thing.Actually the most basic phising method is when for example you forget or leave your your password written/exposed on a piece of paper and someone steals this information i-identity is then stolen and you have problems accessing your account because someone who stole your data accessed and changed your logging information like your password after stealing your password and identity. By observing basic security around your system environment,much of this can be avoided e.g never give personal information like passwords,user names,etc to anyone and constantly maintain a very unpredictable schedule by chaning you logging credentials e.g passwords as often as possible.Genuine organizations will always never ask for details such as passwords, and other personal data that they already have on file.MAKE SURE THAT YOU ENABLE AUTOMATIC WEBISTE CHECKING AND SET THE PHISING FILTER SETTINGS.
