Dear Members, I have read the memo Anguyo Milton has posted for people to review, correct and add information, but I am not convinced that in the memo we have enough evidence to pin these accidents to the management. It is a fact that these accidents have occurred with loss of many lives and property. I think as concerned community we need to truly establish the real causes of these accidents before we put entire blame on the owners of these buses. No bus owner is his right sense will encourage a driver to drive recklessly and cause accidents. Just because a driver is on the steering wheel is not enough associate every accident to his reckless driving. I am sure a number of people on this forum drive and at one time or another have experienced accidents or near accidents. If within this bus companies there is a specific driver who seems to be the one mostly involved in these accidents, then there is a reason to associate that driver with the rampant accidents in the many instances, and it would be correct to write to the bus owners to deal with the specific driver. If the mechanical conditions of the buses are established as unfit, then we have a reason to blame the bus owners for their ineptitudeness in conducting their business. This memo has no credible evidence of facts to pin either the bus owners or the drivers about the causes of the accidents. We need to do a due diligence to establish facts about these accidents before we begin to radically react with such memos. I think it is important for people who want to write memos to get facts about these accidents and state the facts in such memos, rather than the generalized assumption that the owners are responsible for these accidents. Out of about 10 accidents in which these buses are involved, what has been the location where these accidents happen and at what general time do these ACCIDENTS happen. It is my contention that we rather establish the facts of these accidents before rushing into writing any memo to the bus owners with such threats as boycotting riding the buses or threatening demonstrations. If indeed we are concerned about these accidents as expressed in this forum, then the desire to get the true facts of these accidents would be unprecedented.
