Only Anite can explain her own actions and she did it the way she deemed
necessary.I see the headline written as "MP Anite: Loyal cadre or opportunistic
politician?".Ultimately I think the answer lies in one or all of this ! As the
story says,she appears to come off as an ambitious person.The story quoted her
as saying "“To me, that was a platform to not only appreciate the politics of
the country,
but to also network with employers".Clearly she knows what she is looking
for......a job ! My assessment is that as a politician they is trying to
achieve both;naturally most human beings are more opportunistic than others
given any change ! Being opportunistic is defined by the online merriam-webstar
dictionery as "taking advantage of opportunities as they arise".In this case
she took advantage of the event to do what she did. A cadre is defined as "a
cell of indoctrinated leaders active in promoting the interests of a
revolutionary party" or "a group of people having some unifying factor".
Clearly she is a member of the NRM by virtue of her position as an MP and as a
loyal cadre she appears on the outset to be promoting a particular proposal
that NRM faithful upheld.She therefore appears as a loyal NRM MP.
Therefore, by ALL these definitions the person Anite is both a loyal cadre and
an opportunistic politician and is using these to her best advantage regardless
of any considerations ! Whether this degraded her or not is probably not of her
concern but in my own humble opinion she could have used a more subtle way to
demonstrate her loyalty and opportunism because in this she may have offended
some of her constituents in the methods she chose to show her loyalty. I can't
blame her for the opportunism and again she could have been more subtle.Looking
at the picture,I can see the expressions on the faces of the lookers to this
bizzare act by Anite. Even if this act may (strategy) have impact on her future
career as far as elective politics is concerned, she may have one way or the
other secured or brightened her future prospects for a decent job,indeed her
husband is an RDC having been appointed by the President !

I do not share your opinion Margret. Not sure you are right to demonize others
for their legal ambitions, believes and ideologies.
This is a free world. We are free to pursue our ambitions and advance the
causes we believe in.
Just because we do not share the same believes or ideologies does not give us
the right to demonize others. I do not think the MP is out side the law.
The World is big enough for all of us to succeed in. Lets
tolerate each other. We all have the right to pursue our ambitions/dreams and
