greetings wget list

i am having a troubling time here with wget.

i need to make a html version of a site generated by php. but wget saves it
with cgi queries in the filenames. 1.6 allows me to append .html, but in
practice croaks that it doesn't work.. (Cannot write to
`www.presentaustralia.com/index.php3?section=22.html' (Invalid argument).)

ultimately i am hoping for a flat mirror of a dynamically generated site,
with the stored filenames in ms-dos 8.3 notation. is there a way i can
perform this action with a windows or unix version of the program?

i have spent ages on google but can't seem to turn up a page dealing with
the problem.

thanks very much

chris paul
