Do you volunteer to do the work?  I don't mean to be flippant here --
I often don't have time to do maintenance for weeks, and I would like
the list to be alive even when the admin is not available.

The suggestion of having more than one admin is good, as long as there
are people who volunteer to do it besides me.

I also have to check with the sunsite.dk people whether the ML
manager, ezmlm, can handle this.

I think I agree with this.  The amount of spam is staggering.  I have
no explanation as to why this happens on this list, and not on other
lists which are *also* open to non-subscribers.
