Source or binary?

I'm probably betraying my extreme ignorance by asking this question, but does the wget distribution include binaries? I downloaded, unzipped and untarred wget-1.10.1.tar.gz, but could not find an executable. One of the documentation files said that it contains instructions for compiling the source of wget, and that I should not want to do that unless I'm really interesting in building it. So, what's the easy way?
